Vincent Wilfork
GHI 75 represents a new chapter in Vince Wilfork’s life. Built from decades of tradition, family memories, along with his passion for great food. Long before his 13-year NFL career, barbecue was a cornerstone of his childhood. Growing up in a small Florida town, weekends meant family and community, with an unmistakable aroma of smoke rising from his father’s grill.
Vince’s childhood home sat on a prominent corner. The moment smoke from the charcoal and wood hit the air, neighbors would arrive waiting, talking, laughing, and gathering for the Wilfork family’s legendary BBQ and homemade sauces. You could often see people stopping by and standing in line, and those moments shaped Vince’s love for cooking and the pride he takes in sharing good food.
Vince’s father had signature sayings he used at the grill, “Go get the onion powder. I gotta have it,” or “Go get the black pepper. I gotta have it!” Whatever the ingredient was, if it made the food great, Vince’s father had to have it. And those words said with heart, pride and purpose stayed with Vince forever.
After losing his father at age 20, his strong childhood foundation became even more meaningful. Years later during his NFL career, his coach used the phrase “Gotta Have It” in a team meeting. In that moment, Vince felt an instant connection to his father.
From that day on, every time he heard this phrase, he felt his father beside him pushing him forward. Once Vince was ready to create a signature barbecue sauce, the name was already written in his story. Gotta Have It 75, his father’s high school jersey number and ultimately his legendary number. This is where GHI 75 came alive.
