David Hyatt
David Hyatt’s exposure to, and love of the restaurant industry began over 40 years ago when he worked as a bartender while pursuing his undergraduate degree in Psychology. Fast forward to today, David is the Founder and Principal of ON, Inc. a leadership and organizational development consulting firm dedicated to unleashing possibilities for individuals, teams, and organizations. Working primarily in the hospitality industry, David collaborates with executive teams driving transformation in their business, helps new and experienced multi-unit leaders learn how to more effectively build capacity in their teams, and supports individual leaders as they grow their mindsets and skillsets to thrive in this increasingly complex world.
Most recently, David served as Ruth’s Hospitality Group’s Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer from 2019 to 2023, where he worked closely with the Operations team on leadership and management training and drove the people practices fueling their growth in restaurants prior to their acquisition by Darden Restaurants in 2023. David has also served as the Managing Director of the Colorado Campus for the Center for Creative Leadership, worked as a C-Suite level executive coach, an Associate with the Munich Leadership Group, an international leadership consultancy focused on the neuroscience of leadership and organizational performance, and served as the President of Corvirtus, an HR consultancy focused on the creation and maintenance of strong organizational cultures and the selection, development, and retention of high performing hourly, management, and leadership teams to support those cultures. While at Corvirtus, David had the opportunity to support some of the largest brands in the restaurant industry, working closely with the leaders and founders of Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Fleming’s, and Bonefish as well as senior leaders with Brinker International, and Darden.
David began his professional career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and has a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
